I did notice one thing when swatching this foundation in store and it’s that most shades were either too yellow or too pink and was having a difficult thing find the right balance of undertone, but their shade range is quite good and accommodating even to deeper skin tones.įeel and look on skin/Staying Power: My skin type is normal – dry usually leans more towards the latter in the winter months. Shade: I have the shade “Warm Ivory,” which does lean a bit more yellow, but is still a good match. I have not tried using this nor prefer using brushes for foundations. I find that I love using my Beauty Blender to blend this out and it delivers an even smooth streak-free base with minimal effort. It is also easy to layer on itself without getting cakey hence you are easily able to start with little and add on as you see fit. I was also quite impressed with the superb pigmentation and coverage this delivered with very little product, hence with a bit of a learning period, I was able to figure out just how much product is needed and it is remarkably less compared to how much I used with my other stick foundations.

It provides a customizable light, medium and all the way up to absolute full coverage depending on how much product you use. Texture/Pigmentation/Coverage/Blendability: This foundation is very emollient and creamy and just melts on contact with the warmth of your skin. The stick looks very classy, but it’s also a fingerprint magnet. I do really like the triangular point which makes it exceptionally easy to deposit the product in smaller areas if you are using 2 different shades to do cream contouring. Packaging: Since it is a stick foundation, it comes in the standard twist-up format. I was prepared for a bad makeup day, but it wore beautifully for over 8 hours with minimal to no creasing! Uh, wow, it’s not common that a concealer makes me speechless. My Experience with Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick: For the sake of this review I gave it “one more chance” under my eyes with no setting powder. I speculated the Vanish Airbrush Concealer is too dry for under eye use and more suitable for concealing acne, redness or blemishes etc. I tested the Vanish Airbrush Concealer with Hourglass’ own powder and Rouge Bunny Rouge Diaphanous, which is perhaps the finest loose powder I know, but the finish was always too cakey for my liking. I always set my concealer with a tiny bit of translucent loose powder to avoid creasing into my “eye rolls”. My dark circles and inner corners are my main concerns where I need concealing. Once the product sets it’s very long-lasting and quite waterproof, be aware it might stick to your fingers.

My preference is to dab some concealer directly on the skin with the applicator, blend with a brush and then finish by pressing with my ring finger. According to the online description you can use fingers, brush or sponge for blending and I tested all of those methods suitable. The product sets quickly after application, so I’d suggest blending one area at the time.

The feel on the skin after application is nicely light and second-skin like, not heavy at all. Vanish Airbrush Concealer is indeed highly pigmented and one of the most full coverage concealers I’ve tried. The doe-foot applicator is oval shaped and large, personally I would have preferred a smaller doe-foot since you need only a tiny bit of product. The material is plastic and light, which makes it convenient to toss into a makeup bag. The shape of the packaging is similar to their lip glosses, but the tube looks like frosted glass. The beautiful, Hourglass-style luxurious packaging immediately caught my eye.
